My name is Cathy. 

Who am I? I’m from Atlanta, born and raised, and still living in Decatur, GA. I am married to the sweetest, most beautiful woman in the world. I am the mother to two of the stinkiest, cutest dogs and a cat who thinks he’s one of the dogs. I am an iPhone user, a hybrid car driver, and a fat gym rat. I am a Georgia Tech allumna, a millennial, and a book lover. I am queer, I am progressive, I am vegetarian. I am a daughter, I am an employee, I am a friend. I am thrilled to say that I am now a writer.

Why am I here? My goal going in to 2024 is to start creative writing. I’ve always been good at writing for school and have found joy in journaling for myself, but I’ve never learned the art of crafting a story. I’ll be following the instruction in the book The Making of a Story: A Norton Guide to Creative Writing by Alice LaPlante. Follow along, if you want! I have no idea where this journey will take me, but I’m excited to find out!
